Skate Farm Virginia 2011
Eddyさんの地元で主催されている SkateFarm のホームページが更新されていました。今年の予定など、以前より分りやすくなったように思います。ただ、6月中の workshop に日本から参加したくても、今からではエアチケットなどハードルが高そうです。
Since Eddy's not doing any US 'roadshow' workshops this year, I thought it would be a good opportunity to finally go up and take the workshop up at his home in Floyd, VA. Anyone else interested in going?
The workshop runs Friday-Tuesday. If I go, I'll likely drive up Thursday evening. (I still need to get approval for the time off from work...) I haven't decided if I'm coming back Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. I can comfortably take 2 more people in my truck, so we can save on gas money...

For anyone that hasn't been to Eddy's workshop before, you're missing out! I highly recommend them. I've never been to the workshop in Virginia, but I've attended his shorter "roadshow" workshops here in Greensboro and Georgia. Hopefully we'll get on his US schedule next year, but there's no guarantee.
Anyway, if you're interested and want to carpool, let me know...
One downside -- the workshop is the same weekend as the "MS Fits Ice Cream Ride" here in RTP. (Which is a nice event that we've skated in the past.) So I won't be able to attend that. If you can't devote the whole weekend to the workshop, I recommend the Ice Cream Ride if you want to get a good roadskate in...

Skate Farm Virginia 2011

As 2010 NYC 100K champion, Eddy will show you up close how the hills and "hollers" of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains are essential fodder for his exploits. You'll have an opportunity to train on the very terrain that provided Eddy with success at the races, and in so doing improve your confidence and preparation for any of your own challenges.
Summertime in the mountains will agree with you. At 3000 feet elevation, Floyd offers a cool respite from the heat of the city, with summertime highs in the low 80's and nighttime lows in the 60's. Sit on the deck and let the stream serenade you. Jump in the Little River and picnic on her banks. Gaze at the blaze of the Milky Way across the night sky.
Food and lodging, TWINCAM bearings, a performance t-shirt, and a DVD recording of your experience are all included in the price of instruction.
