New Frame DIABLO .4

EO Skates "DIABLO .4" Prototype

After 2 years of development EO is proud to present DIABLO .4.

From aeronautical technologies DIABLO .4 is the frame with the best stiffness / weight of the market.

Imagine and setup by skaters, DIABLO .4 will give to you unique sensations, your skating will be incredibly reactiv.
 DIABLO .4
DIABLO .4 is a monobloc frame, made with a pressure mold process.
 DIABLO .4

Test platinizes composite EO Skates Diablo 4
Translated by Babel Fish Translation
Of passage in Grenoble recently, young growth EO Skates gave the opportunity to us to test its "baby": an ultra composite material turntable light and remarkably rigid.

Fruit of several years of an impassioned development, platinizes it in composite "Diablo 4" benefits from processes of high flight implemented in aeronautics, field for which the research of the best legerete/rigidity report/ratio is a permanent combat. In addition to its advanced technoloqic qualities, this product is developed and tested by demanding skaters in practice of their sport. Finally succeeded, this turntable will fly away with the conquest of the market from the very start of the next year.

Diablo 4 is a turntable 4 axes designed to admit wheels of 104 mm maximum. Of a standard length of 326 mm (12"8), its between clevis pin is of 195 Misters Except the black color and the aspect characteristics of composite material armed with carbon fibre, its form recalls to the first glance any other platinum: reversed channel section, arches between the bridges, etc. A more precise examination will highlight its special characteristics: a side vein on each side to improve rigidity and to better answer the requests, of the inserts aluminium stuck in the composite structure to receive the axes of the wheels. It should be noted that its design was carried out with means of calculations used in industry with an aim of optimizing its structure vis-a-vis with the requests.

What strikes as of the first catch in hand, it is obviously its incredible lightness: 125 G maximum are almost half less than considerable platinums aluminium of the market. By way of comparison, my turntable Diabolik 4x105 weighs 210 G Ensuite, one notes indeed the great stiffness of this compressed ultra composite sandwich (a press of 40 tons is used to close the mould!) ; remain to check how it behaves dynamically.

The assembly on the shoes did not pose any problem not more than that of the wheels: the spacings are controlled perfectly and the wheels assembled with microphone-bearings and standard spacers turn without problem. The turntable Diablo 4 does not have that a light of fixing on each bridge is any possibility of adjustment of the position of before behind of the slipper. This is not awkward in addition to-measurement and the slipper is well centered on the turntable. The lights allow a good latitude of side adjustment. In spite of the material, which by lack usually can appear "fragile" with screwing compared to metal, the assembly and tightening are carried out in confidence and the risks of breakage at the time of this operation appear tiny. To save material, perhaps will be necessary it to intercalate discs under the heads of the disassembling and fastening screws of the turntable in the event of frequent assembly. Also remain to check the behaviour in the time of the screwed elements: behaviour of the joining of the inserts in particular.

The first turns of wheels are absolutely disconcerting and hustle all the reference marks: such a lightness is disconcerting with the impression not to have anything at the end of the feet; however they are only a few tens of grams less... Good half an hour of ice-skating will have been necessary to me to accustom me to the phenomenon. Then one notes indeed the great rigidity of this turntable which, combined with its lightness, confers an excellent output to him. Accelerations and the departures are sharp and dynamic. The turntable is trés handy and the passages of cross-sections to cross-sections are done without concern. With the passing, I in spite of very found it a little less nervous than my Diabolik 4x100: is the material the only cause?

From the point of view of slips, Diablo 4 is a rather pleasant turntable, with the good rolling and which gets good feelings. Its exceptional stiffness is also the guarantee of a good behaviour course, of a good guidance of trajectory; in short, it is a turntable of high degree of accuracy. It should be noted however that it is particularly noisy since the bearings are a little old. Indeed, the vibrations created by the irregularities of rolling make "resound" the composite beam which produces then a noise chechmate and sound trés particular oppposé with a "metal" sonority.

At the time of this test on road of approximately 30 km at intervals rather supported, I easily could highlight the exemplary effectiveness of the turntable. However, I could not really note the profits brought by his weak weight: that must be more sensitive at more important distances or in coast. In addition, it would be intérresant to test its behavior in descent.

Throughout test, I remained paradoxically a little obstructed by this lightness (by lack usually trés probably) like by the particular feelings gotten by the response of material: a certain apprehension of breakage related to the feeling not to have "anything under the foot" and of the blow a certain reserve in ice-skating.

In conclusion, Diablo 4 is a rigid turntable remarkably light but also trés what confers an excellent effectiveness and precision to him. It acts of a top-of-the-range product, trés technical and of a great quality of manufacture. It is addressed to demanding skaters in the search of new feelings and increased performances. The lightness and the particular response of the composite will be able to divert of them more one and a time of adaptation and necessary.

Marketing is planned for the beginning of 2007 with the price of 320 Euros the pair. It belongs to the most expensive platinums of the market (Diabolik 4x105 is proposed with 279 Euros).

Let us wish a beautiful commercial future with this new equipment supplier French roller who presents arguments "of weight"!
